SOIREE YVES VELAN A L’OCCASION DE LA REEDITION DE “CONTRE POUVOIR”

PAR LES EDITIONS D’EN BAS

A l’occasion de la réédition de "Contre-Pouvoir » de Yves Velan par les Editions d’en bas, les Editions d’en bas et le Château de Lavigny organisent une soirée de discussions et de lectures autour de cette oeuvre

Yves Velan, l’auteur « Je » (Seuil) et « Soft Goulag » (Zoé), en ces pages serrées, brillantes, ironiques, fraternelles, agite « un petit trousseau de questions ». Selon le Pouvoir et certains écrivains, le cor des Alpes et le cinéma sont la même sorte d’évènement : la culture est confondue avec la société.

Pour Yves Velan, la littérature existe par les obstacles qu’elle dresse, et dans la distance qui la sépare de l’ensemble des textes dits et écrits, ceux qui coulent comme l’eau de lessive. Abolissez cette différence et toute la société se refermera sur elle-même. Elle baignera dans la « communication » Il demande qu’à tout prix, sans complexe, elle oppose à l’idéologie de la série, la culture qui est arrêt, mémoire. Seul celui qui la possède, comme on saisit le feu, échappe au « goulag mou ».

Il s’agit de la réédition d’un livre publié en 1978 (Bertil Galland) et qui n’a pas pris une ride.

AUTEUR

Yves Velan (1925-2017), professeur, écrivain et critique littéraire, est né à Saint-Quentin (France) et mort à La Chaux-de-Fonds. Membre fondateur, il participe activement dès 1950 à la revue Rencontre avec Jean-Pierre Schlunegger, Henri Debluë et Michel Dentan. Il est politiquement engagé : communiste et membre du POP jusqu’en 1957, il est exclu de l’enseignement vaudois pour ses opinions. Il s’installe à La Chaux-de-Fonds en 1954. Avec deux interruptions pour enseigner la littérature française du XIXe siècle à l’Université d’Urbana en Illinois, d’abord de 1965 à 1966, puis de 1968 à 1978, Yves Velan sera professeur de littérature au Gymnase de La Chaux-de-Fonds jusqu’en 1991. En 1948, il détruit son roman intitulé D’un monde mauvais. Il faut attendre 1959 pour lire son premier roman, Je, publié aux éditions du Seuil à Paris, qui rencontre un large succès et reçoit le Prix Félix Fénéon et le Prix de Mai. Par la suite, il écrit deux autres romans, La statue de Condillac retouchée (Seuil, 1973) puis Soft Goulag (Bertil Galland, 1977), qui obtient le Grand prix de la science-fiction francophone et le Prix Schiller. Il publie un essai : Contre-pouvoir : lettre au groupe d’Olten (Bertil Galland, 1978). Le Narrateur et son énergumène est publié à titre posthume en mars 2018 aux éditions Zoé.
